Subject: WMV files won't import into iMovie

This article does not apply to iMovie08 as it is not presently supported by Flip4Mac.

When importing any WMV file into iMovie or Compressor, an error message shows "Error during import.  This file could not be imported.
Unknown error."

If you have iMovie 08, you can go to www.apple.com/support/downloads/imovieHD6.html for a free iMovie 06 installer.

If Open Local Files Immediately is unchecked in Flip4Mac System Preferences, files could not be imported.  Once this option is selected, import works fine in both Compressor and iMovie.
